#Letsmodo Mountain Bike #Microadventure to Burnt Bridge
Passionate about supporting the breakdown of barriers to folks getting active outside, we were jazzed to hear that Vancouver's carshare co-op, Modo, was jumping the pond to Victoria, bringing with them their enthusiasm for adventure and their fleet of cars to help meet the accessibility challenge for car-free South Island adventurers wanting to head north. Having recently downsized our own vehicle fleet, it was great timing to team up with Modo to make possible a rip over the Malahat to Shawnigan Lake to check out for the first time the Burnt Bridge riding zone, a classic of old-school VanIsle mountainbiking.
You can check out our report here, including the results of our physics-bending test of whether a Scion FRS can in fact accommodate a mountain bike (or two), as their marketing materials would have you believe: http://modo.coop/blog/letsmodo-mountain-biking-in-burnt-bridge-and-beyond/.
Big thanks to Modo for the loaner of the whip and friends Ross and Lis for showing us around.
